2025 WyoPoets Members-Only Contest

POSTMARK DEADLINE: February 14, 2025

Eligibility:

All WyoPoets members in good standing
are eligible to enter. Poets may join WyoPoets at
the time of submission by including $20.00 dues
with their contest fees.

Contest Guidlines:

1. Any subject, any form. Limit 40 lines.

2. Forms may include: traditional rhyming, free verse, Haiku, experimental.

3. Limit: members may enter up to three (3) poems only.

4. Entry fee: $2 per poem or three poems for $5.

5. Prizes: $75, $50, $25 plus certificates for honorable mention.

Submission Rules:

ENTRIES MUST CONFORM TO THESE GUIDELINES OR THEY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED

1. Send two copies of each poem, one with name, address & email in upper right hand corner; one copy without ID;
Please state the form (such as sonnet, free verse, etc), in left hand corner of both copies.

2. Deadline: Only poems that meet the February 14th postmark deadline will be considered. No poems will be returned so keep copies.

3. Winners will be notified by mail and recognized in the newsletter and at our spring workshop. No poems will be published in WyoPoets’ Newsletter without the author’s written permission.

IMPORTANT: Please send your entries in a #10 envelope NOT a manila clasp envelope

We are very pleased that Veronica Golos, the esteemed New Mexico poet and author, was our contest judge. Veronica Golos is the author of four poetry books: A Bell Buried Deep (Nicholas Roerich Poetry Prize), Vocabulary of Silence (2011 New Mexico Book Award), Rootwork,  and GIRL (Naji Naaman Honor Prize for Poetry.) She is the co-founding editor of the Taos Journal of International Poetry & Art.  She lives in Taos, New Mexico.
